What is the Dog Aging Project testing?
The Dog Aging Project is a large, long-running study of ageing in ordinary pet dogs, and its rapamycin arm is the TRIAD trial — a placebo-controlled test of low-dose rapamycin in older companion dogs, tracking healthspan, lifespan and cardiac outcomes.[1] Because it follows dogs living normal lives, it is designed to answer a real-world question, not just a laboratory one.
Why are dogs such a good ageing model?

What it means for dog owners

Rapamycin is a potent prescription immunosuppressant, and canine longevity dosing is still being worked out under controlled conditions — inside a double-masked, placebo-controlled, multicentre protocol with veterinary oversight at every site.[2] The appropriate route is a conversation with your own veterinarian, ideally exploring legitimate study participation.
